Expression of interest to race 2023 European Cyclo-cross championships

The purpose of this of this post is to set out the selection process for Irish riders to compete in the 2023 UEC Cyclo-cross European Championships at Pont-Chateau, France (4-5 November 2023) The selection is open to riders in the following categories: Junior men, Junior women, Under 23 men and Under 23 women.

THE NUMBER OF RIDERS SELECTED TO COMPETE HAS NOT BEEN FINALISED AND MAY MEAN THAT RIDERS MEETING ALL OR SOME CRITERIA MAY NOT BE SELECTED.

Riders will be required to book and pay for their return flights once selected.
Criteria
* Riders must hold a current racing licence issued by Cycling Ireland or another federation affiliated with the UCI with the nationality marked as “IRELAND‟.
* Riders must have the flexibility to travel to the event perhaps up to 3 days in advance.
* In order to be considered for selection, riders must have raced cyclo-cross regularly and competitively between 1 September 2023 and 16 October 2023. Additional value, within the selection process, will be placed on riders that have attended the CX development squad training camp at McCrystal’s Sept 16th, competed at Round 1 National League Race, Falls Park, competed in relevant international competition (within the qualification period). Results at the UCI C2 race at Clonmel Tipperary on 14/15 October will also be taken into consideration.

Riders wishing to be considered for selection to the European Cyclo-cross Championships must submit their cycling CV by close of play Monday 16th October 2023. An example CV is available here (Word document). CVs should be sent in PDF format to cyclocross@offroadcyclingireland.ie.

It is the responsibility of each athlete, who has indicated their wish to be considered for selection, to ensure that their full contact details have been provided to the Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission. This is to be able to communicate important information to the athlete to ensure compliance with the obligations of providing whereabouts information in accord with Anti-Doping Policy and the World Anti-Doping Code.
