The inaugural Trophy of Nations Enduro event takes place on 29 September at Fnale Ligure, Italy. All Teams were chosen by the Enduro World Series (EWS), using a system of series points and global points then wild card riders. Ireland has two teams entered – A men’s team and an Under 21 men’s team. Unfortuanly there were not have enough Irish females to enter a team.

The Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission is seeking expressions of interest from Junior male and Junior female riders to compete in the 2019 European Cyclo-cross Championships which are being held in Silvelle, Italy 9-10 November 2019. (Event website)
A maximum of four riders would be sent to the event (less if riders do not meet the criteria) along with support staff.

Last weekend (17-18 August 2019) saw former two time European CX Champion and World Championship bronze medalist Helen Wyman visit us for two days of cyclocross coaching days. Saturday saw Helen and her husband/coach Stefan, visit Lurgan Park and Sunday saw them both at the new dedicated cyclocross training facility at the National Sports Campus in Dublin.

This weekend sees a milestone in Irish cycling with the inaugural use of the new Cyclocross Skills Zone at the National Sports Campus in Dublin.
The opening of the venue, coincides with the visit of two time European Champion Helen Wyman who will be hosting a cyclocross coaching session at the venue on Sunday 18th August from 9am.

The UCI has confirmed selection of two Irish riders to attend their Cyclocross training Camp in Aigle in Switzerland (1-6th October 2019). Best of luck to Lucy O’Donnell and Darren Rafferty.
Each year the camp is hosted by a top international cyclocross coach or former CX professional. Previous versions have seen Sven Nys, Rudy de Bee and Sven Vanthourenhout passing on their experience and knowledge to the riders.
Best of luck to Lee Harvey and Nathan Kurensky who are competing in the Junior men’s category at the 2019 European XCO Championships at Brno, Czech Republic. Their race is on Saturday 27 July 2019. Team Manager Gareth McKee took some photos of the guys out practising the course.

The Commission is asking all cyclo-cross event organisers to register their 2019/2020 event on the Cycling Ireland portal sooner rather than later to help eliminate any local clashes and to allow riders to plan their season. Former two time European Cyclocross champion Helen Wyman is hosting a weekend of cyclocross clinics and Q&A sessions in Lurgan Park and Dublin on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August. Helen is also 10 time British Champion and has placed top 10 in the world championships on three occasions.
