Unknown individuals have broken a large number of glass bottles along the trails in Leadmines, Co. Dublin. Please be aware of this and keep your eye out when riding. Members of EPIC Mtb are leading the clean-up effort – check here if you’d like to help out.

Not everybody liked last years MBCC NPS track and Tracton is a longer drive (2hrs 30min approx. from red cow) so is it worth the trip?!
Here’s some comments from rider’s experience to Tracton in March on a very very wet day;
(30% of the trail has been hard packed since then!)

“…the track was awesome. maybe I’m jaded, too used to all the multitude of trails I have ridden over the years.”

“suffice to say it was the best of the Leadmines, Djouce and the old Lumpers trail with all the singletrack.”

Chain Reaction Cycles iDMS2 Tarbo report   

It is plain and simple; it is always exciting to rock up to a new race venue. After seeing some helmet cam footage of Gary Williams track on Mt Leinster just outside Bunclody at first I wasn’t completely convinced. One run later – I was convinced. The track was pretty cool I thought, it flowed well but only if you had the skill to make it flow. 

The 2012 XC Leinster League finalised tables are being updated and should be completed by 10th May.

• Your full name.
• Your CI licence number
• Your UCI number (printed on the bottom of your CI licence card)
• The location/name and dates of the DH World Cup event(s) you wish to enter (click here for the schedule).
• Your contact phone number.

After you make your submission, the Offroad Commission and Cycling Ireland will determine your eligibility for the DH World Cup series and will advise you accordingly.

Greg Callaghan (OC tuning/Solid Bikes) wins iDMS2 at the new Mt Leinster track. In the Elites Karl O'Sullivan takes second and Christopher McGlinchey (Team Nukeproof) third. Second fastest time of the day came from an on-fire Luke Cornforth (021 Racing) in the Youth category ! Erika McDermott (Team Moco with Biking Dirty) took the women's win and the Masters podium was Epic dominated again with Mark Tiernan on the top step. Joe Ward (Potato Bred) beat Ian McIntyre to the Veteran win on his new Norco and Stephen McCormack (OC Tuning) again won in Juniors and Jack Crowley (Weldon) won the Juveniles again as he had @iDMS1

2012 IDMS Round 2 Results from Mount Leinster

Riders who allocate themselves to a category other than what the grading lists advises will be reallocated to the category as advised by the grading list.

Regardless of category, riders should use the online reg. utility as this saves the hosting club a lot of hassle.

If you do not register online, the race organisers can refuse your admission on the day.

Some NPS events will require optional or mandatory payment online – if you cannot pay online, then you need to contact the race organisers – in this case Alan Bingham or Gary Sheils to arrange/agree alternate means of payment.

If your name is not on the Grading list then you can select which category to enter yourself.

Also, if you possess a CI licence you must enter the full and correct CI licence number online and also have the licence available for inspection on the day.

If you enter a licence number that is not recognised by the system, your online entry may be deleted and you will be prompted (via the email address you have provided) to register again with the full and correct licence number,

All licence numbers entered online will be validated against a daily report of paid members from the CI database.

If you do not have a CI licence, then leave the default value “DAY LCNC” in the licence number field and purchase a day licence on the day.

If you have a Club Competition or Club Member licence then you MUST purchase a one-day licence!

Licence check will be enforced at all CI offroad events so ensure to have your licence with you or a letter/email from CI confirming that you have paid for you licence and are awaiting receipt of it.
