2011 XC MTB National Championships

Team-Worc is proud to host the 2011 Irish XCMTB National Championships in the excellent setting of Killruddery demesne on Sunday 17th July.

You are NOT eligible for a Championship medal when racing under a One Day licence!

 

The following are the championship categories that have been confirmed as being run on the day:

  • Elite Men
  • Elite Women
  • Masters Men
  • Veterans Men
  • Junior Men

Back to a super fast and flowy course with the usual mix of fast singletrack, tough climbs, rock gardens and bombholes
We are working hard to improve what we have used in previous editions with some new twists.

We are running the following categories in line with the UCI MTB categories;
Elite Men, Elite Women, Master, Veteran, Junior.
This differs to the current NPS format due to current UCI category requirements, but we will run with Senior 3 and Senior 4 categories for people outside of the race distances of the championship categories.
The course should be about 20-22min for the elite riders which we aim to give the following laps:

Race 1

12.00 Senior 3 Men & Senior 2 Women & Junior Women 3 laps
12.02 Senior 4 Men & Senior 3 Women 2 laps
12.04 Under 16 2 laps
12.08 Under 12/14 Alternative course

Race 2
14.00 Elite men 5 laps
14.02 Elite women 4 laps
14.04 Juniors 4 laps
14.06 Masters 4 laps
14.08 Veterans 4 laps

Online Registration will be available shortly and is mandatory for Race 2.
There will be no on the day entry for Race 2 categories!

We will accept on the day entries for Race 1 with a closing time of  11am (ie; 1 hour before Race 1 start).

On Sunday there will be a Clown doing face painting and balloon animals, plus gourmet coffee and Burgers from 10.00am.

Saturday pratice:

  • Gates will be open from 12:30 to 16:00. Please do not arrive before 12:30 as the gates will be shut and the roadway into Kilruddery is quite narrow. Sign on and number pick up will be available once the gates are open
  • Only riders who have recieved their number boards will be allowed on the Nationals Course and Helmets must be worn at all times
  • Bike Demo from 13:00, only on the demo loop.

Sunday

  • Gates will Open at 09:00am
  • Number pick up and sign-on on from 9-11am
  • Kids Entertainment: 12-3pm

Support:
We will have some support from some of the cycle shops for our National Championships, some of them will be demo-ing their bikes on Saturday from 1.00 and Sunday morning.

We will have a nice loop to try them out on.

  • Think Bike [Trek]
  • Bespoke Cycles
  • Chain Reaction Cycles should have there demo truck and demo bikes available
  • Piranha {Bike Wash/Bike Cleaning Products]

Directions:

From Dublin/North-
Take the Bray South/Greystones exit off the n11 and follow directions for greystones.
DO NOT take the entrance to Killruddery house and gardens but continue taking the second exit off the next roundabout onto the r761 towards Greystones.
The race will be signposted off this road.
