We’ve just received the following BMX news from the UCI:
1 UCI BMX Permanent Number system
We remind you that the National Federation shall submit the application form to receive a permanent number (see attachment) [available numbers]for the 2013 season before the deadline fixed on 15th October 2012. Applications received after 15th October will not be treated.
Riders who ended in top 8 at the 2012 UCI BMX World Championships are obliged to race with their world number 1 – 8. They will keep the right on their career number (art. 6.1.075). If there are multiple requests for one number, the rider with the highest ranking will have the first right of choice (first elilte, then junior), according to the ranking of 14th August 2012.

Irish BMX Racing Scene Explodes Into Action!
0Nobody could have predicted the amount of interest, excitement and enthusiasm that was demonstrated in Co. Meath on Sunday 27th Nov 2011 at the grand opening of the Ratoath BMX track.
A rider count exceeding 170 and a massive swell of spectators thronged the brand new venue and there was a real buzz of excitement and anticipation about the place during registration.
Food vendors and bike stands were on site, with a few classic 80s tunes blasting out over the PA providing a great atmosphere.

UCI BMX World Championships – Copenhagen
0The 2011 UCI BMX World Championships takes place in Copenhagen from July 27th to July 31st. Full details are now available on the official website:
Construction to Begin on Ratoath BMX Track

Last week, planning permission was granted for the development of a BMX track in Ratoath, Co. Meath. Construction will commence in the first week of May with heavy equipment in use for the first two weeks (until the money runs out…).
Labour is required to finish off the track on the second and third weekends of May (Fri 13th – Sun15th and Fri 20th – Sun 22nd).
People who can swing a shovel are needed - bring a shovel, boots and something bright to wear. If you’re interested in helping, please contact jmcnally@symantec.com or ewyer@commscope.com.
