Connacht MTB Championships

On Sunday October 9th Connemara MTB will be hosting the Connacht MTB Champs for Connacht Cycling in Rosscahill Woods. This is an open championship so anyone can enter. There will be lots of categories -Elite, Expert, Sports, Juniors, Ladies, Vets, U-16, U-14, U-12 and U-10 and a prize for the best placed singlespeed. Races will start at 11am with sign on from 10am.
The Connacht medals will be awarded at a prizegiving cermony in November but there will be prizes on the day as well. Entry fee is only €10 for seniors, €5 for juniors and €3 for underage.The race trail is the 8km club loop (90% singletrack) and is a good technical test. Come along and support mountain biking in the West!
Munster Developmental MTB XC Series Round 1

The First round of this series will be held in Tracton Woods on the Saturday 5th March.
Categories
U10,U12 will be using the ‘Crispy Duck’ Trail
U14 and U16 and Greenhorns will have one full lap, not including the TNT section.
Baggies will have 2 full laps not including TNT.

2011 New XC Racing Categories Announcement

As previously communicated, the Offroad Commission has investigated the introduction of ability-based XC racing categories for 2011 and subsequent years. After consultation with various members of the XC racing community, a final decision has now been made.
Men
The new ability-based XC race categories for 2011 and beyond will be named Senior 1/2/3/4
Women
Women’s categories were already ability-based with the existing categories, these categories will be now renamed Senior Women 1/2/3.
