{"id":4132,"date":"2013-06-11T22:41:49","date_gmt":"2013-06-11T21:41:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/?p=2858"},"modified":"2013-06-11T22:41:49","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T21:41:49","slug":"2013-irish-bmx-national-series-round-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.offroadcyclingireland.ie\/wordpress\/2013\/06\/11\/2013-irish-bmx-national-series-round-4\/","title":{"rendered":"2013 Irish BMX National Series \u2013 Round 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: xx-large;\"><strong>2013 Irish BMX National Series \u2013 Round 4<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>National 4 of the 2013 season is done and dusted, we had a great turn out, in all 114 riders turned up to race at the Ratoath track giving an awesome display of bike riding and unparalleled level of competition in any cycle sport on this island.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R41.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2860\" title=\"R41\" src=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R41.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mentioned in despatches:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another awesome display from James Wood taking the win from Dylan Moore, Noah Master son was in the mix until a wipe out cost him dearly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Corey \u201cRocky\u201d Waller \u00a0taking the win from Ruben Smith who has just moved home to Belfast from Zimbabwe, a country he represented at World Level in BMX, we look forward to seeing Ruben and his equally lethal sister again on their flats real soon. \u00a0Remember no clips for 13 years and under.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Jackson is total loony having great fun he had a big crash and just gets on with it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YzrjoAriUCQ?feature=player_detailpage\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Quinn took one of the tightest battles of the day, just beating Niall Davis in the last moto to take the overall win.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Morgan \u201cThe Machine\u201d Kearney overcame a bad crash to edge out Cian O\u2019Sullivan for the win.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ross \u201cThe Boss\u201d Callaghan took the win from fast Daniel Barker, \u00a0these guys were hard to separate all day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seems the Wyer apprentice Brian \u201cElbows Jr.\u201d \u00a0Kavanagh has some competition in the form of Alan Coleman, the guys were fighting \u00a0hard all day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R4-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2861\" title=\"R4 4\" src=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R4-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R4-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2862\" title=\"R4 3\" src=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R4-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adam Davis, operating the start gate with a broken collar bone got to watch his age group being won by Aaron McNally after \u00a0a tough battle with Leon \u201cMoonwalker\u201d Curley and Emmet Callaghan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom Gordon spilt a lot of blood and a few teeth in practice so missed an epic battle in the best, the toughest and the wildest group of any kind in all of Irish cycle sport, the 14\u2019s, the final saw a few mishaps with Sam \u201cSilk\u201d\u201d Murphy leading until being BMX\u2019ed by Eoin Corrigan in turn 3 who took the win followed home by a rampant Mathew \u201cSuper Fast\u201d Malone who went from last to 2nd, \u00a0KT O\u2019Neill taking a third to make the podium.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Edward, Jake Lynch and Jake Campbell from the 15 \u2018s taking a 1,2,3 in the 16-29 merged group, need some more riders in the category.<br \/>\nShauna Byrne and Abbey Steacy kicking it as usual in the girls.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KT O\u2019Neill was not phased by racing the boys and the ladie&#8217;s groups \u201cback to back\u201d, a seriously tough and skilful bike rider, taking the win in Ladies and 3rd in the boys.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 30+ saw a titanic battle between Ian Callaghan, Mark Kennedy and Stephen Bagnall. We even witnessed some argy bargy and some protests, great to see from these lads proving it doesn\u2019t matter what age you, wanting to win a bike race against those that are brave enough to turn up to race you is still important, we salute you all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R4-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2863\" title=\"R4 2\" src=\"http:\/\/bmxireland.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/R4-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the Superclass, or the \u201cwalking wounded\u201d no one backs down as per usual, Jeremy O\u2019Brien, Lar Massey, Kevin McShane, Eamonn Wyer were all hospital cases and if not for a posse of medics, nurses, physio\u2019s, healers, magicians and special ointments would all have been on the sidelines.\u00a0 Best crash and performance of the day went to Lar Massey, demonstrating you can win and win in style no matter how old or how broken you are.
