{"id":1557,"date":"2011-08-03T08:31:57","date_gmt":"2011-08-03T08:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.irishxcmtb.com\/?p=2676"},"modified":"2011-08-08T20:01:54","modified_gmt":"2011-08-08T20:01:54","slug":"important-2011-xc-nps-points-please-read","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.offroadcyclingireland.ie\/wordpress\/2011\/08\/03\/important-2011-xc-nps-points-please-read\/","title":{"rendered":"Important: 2011 XC NPS Points &#8211; Please Read!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, the <a title=\"The final XC NPS of 2011!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.irishxcmtb.com\/2011\/08\/01\/the-final-xc-nps-of-2011\/\" >last NPS of the yea<\/a>r is just around the corner &#8211; and it looks like it&#8217;s going to be an amazing one.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of you have fought hard for points all year, so please be aware of the criteria to qualify for an overall placing.<\/p>\n<p>All <strong>SENIOR<\/strong> and <strong>JUNIOR<\/strong> categories must attend a minimum of<strong> 5 races<\/strong> in order to qualify for an overall placing.<\/p>\n<p>All <strong>YOUTH<\/strong> categories must attend a minimum of <strong>4 races<\/strong> in order to qualify for an overall placing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NPS trophies will be assigned to the Top 5 positions (assuming sufficient race attendance numbers), as an example, based upon the current tables, zero trophies will be assigned to SENIOR WOMEN 1 (due to riders not attending required number of races), for SENIOR WOMEN 2, a max. number of 4 trophies will be assigned, for\u00a0SENIOR WOMEN 3, 2 trophies will be assigned, for JUNIOR a\u00a0max. number of 2 trophies will be assigned etc..<\/p>\n<p>If you DNF&#8217;ed in a race, this still counts as having attended a race, so please check the results table <a title=\"XC tables\" href=\"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/40769\/MTB%20race%20results\/2011%20results\/2011%20XC%20league%20tables.xlsx\" >here<\/a> (Excel file).<\/p>\n<p>In column Y on the &#8220;<a title=\"2011 League Tables\" href=\"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/40769\/MTB%20race%20results\/2011%20results\/2011%20XC%20league%20tables.xlsx\" >NPS League table<\/a>&#8221; tab, it shows your points for the best 4 or 5 races, several riders to date have only completed 4 races, and thus show as zero points on the table, once these riders attend the final NPS then their points will be assigned.<\/p>\n<p>For example, in SENIOR 2, Jim Haide has a total of 69 points but does not yet qualify for an overall placing and thus does not have a position assigned, if he had attended another race, he would be in 4th position overall. Another &#8220;danger-man&#8221; Paul Coyne is in a similar situation with 59 total points, which would put currently put him in 6th place.<br \/>\nIn SENIOR 1, Niall Davis has a total of 69 points but does not yet qualify for an overall placing (4 races attended to date) and thus does not have a position assigned, if he had attended another race, he would be in 2nd position overall.<\/p>\n<p>Aiden McDonald has a total of 82 points but does not yet qualify for an overall placing (4 races attended to date) and thus does not have a position assigned, if he had attended another race, he would be in 2nd position overall.<\/p>\n<p>So, moral of the story; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">watch-out for the danger-men\/women<\/span>!<\/p>\n<p>Ensure to <a title=\"XC League tables\" href=\"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/40769\/MTB%20race%20results\/2011%20results\/2011%20XC%20league%20tables.xlsx\" >check the XC League tables<\/a> to see where you could potentially finish the year and who could unsettle your best-laid plans!<\/p>\n<p>Any questions drop an email to fergal.kilkenny@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, the last NPS of the year is just around the corner &#8211; and it looks like it&#8217;s going to be an amazing one.
