Enduro co-ordinator post filled

The Commission are pleased to welcome onboard Alan Redmond, currently with Biking Dirty, as the new Enduro Co-ordinator.
Alan grew up doing BMX, competing at Worlds in 1986. He competed in many national championships throughout the 80s. Al has been racing Enduro since 2014.

Expression of interest in running the 2020 Enduro National Championships

The Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission is seeking expressions of interest from clubs to run the Enduro National Championships for 2020.  There is no set date for this event.

secretary@offroadcyclingireland.ie.  Closing date of applications is close of play Tuesday 8 October 2019.
Note: The host club does not need to have secured confirmation from the landowner to submit an expression of interest.   At this stage we are just trying to gauge interest from clubs willing to host the event.

Irish team heading to Enduro Trophy of Nations

The inaugural Trophy of Nations Enduro event takes place on 29 September at Fnale Ligure, Italy. All Teams were chosen by the Enduro World Series (EWS), using a system of series points and global points then wild card riders. Ireland has two teams entered – A men’s team and an Under 21 men’s team. Unfortuanly there were not have enough Irish females to enter a team.

Warm weather and fast trails for the Enduro National Championships

The 2019 Irish National Enduro Championships took place over the weekend of the 22/23 June at Ravensdale Forest, Co. Louth hosted by Chain Reaction Cycles / First Tracks. This event doubled up as Round 3 of the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup and had also been used for Round 1 of the series. The event was also a qualifier round for the Enduro World Series (EWS).

Irish National Enduro Championships 2019 – information

The 2019 Irish National Enduro Championships will be held at Kilbroney, Rostrevor County Down on the weekend of 22/23 June 2019. The event will double up as Round 3 of the Vitus/First Track Enduro series.  NOTE: In order to be eligible for the championship categories you will need to have at least a Limited Competition licence from Cycling Ireland with the country code “IRL” on the licence.

Tricky conditions at the first Irish National Enduro Championships

The first official Irish National Enduro Championships took place over the weekend of 25/26 August 2018 at Djouce Woods in County Wicklow. Hosted by Niall Davis and his team at Biking.ie the prestigious event is a reflection of the rise of enduro in Ireland. There are even upcoming plans for the UCI to recognise the sport internationally.
