Expression of interest for Juniors/U23s to compete at the first round of the British XC series

The Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission is seeking expressions of interest from male and female riders to compete in the first round of the HSBC British Cross-country Mountain Bike Series which takes place at Hadleigh Farm, Essex on 21/22 March 2020. This opportunity should be seen as part of rider development.

A maximum of four riders would be supported to compete at the event. The race categories would be Junior and Under 23 riders.

NOTE 1: Riders will be competing under their club name and wearing their own club colours.
NOTE 2: There will be a van leaving Dublin. All other travel arrangements to be confirmed closer to the time.
NOTE 3: All selections are made by the Cycling Ireland Off Road Commission.
NOTE 4: A rider contribution of up to €100 will be required towards the costs.
NOTE 5: This opportunity is based on budget being approved from Cycling Ireland and of gaining entries to the race.
NOTE 6: The race is an “open” event and riders can travel over independently

Criteria

The rider must have a current UCI competition membership licence with “Nationality = Ireland”.

The rider should be displaying commitment to cross-country mountain bike racing. Any 2020 results from cross-country events as well as 2019 results should show high position finishes.
